  • This game opens the Matchday 3 of the Group Stage.

Still looking for their first win, Uruguay and Peru face off this Friday, July 18, in the opening match of Group A’s Matchday 3 at the CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™. The clash is key for both sides’ ambitions in this edition held in Ecuador.

Uruguay has collected one point so far. In the tournament’s opening game against the hosts, La Celeste took the lead but saw Ecuador fight back to draw 2-2. They then lost a tight contest to Argentina by 1-0.

Peru, meanwhile, suffered defeats in its first two outings — 3-0 against Chile and 3-1 against Ecuador. Emily Lima’s team now needs to earn points to stay in the race for a spot in the next round.

Currently, Ecuador leads Group A with 4 points, followed by Chile and Argentina, both with 3. Those two teams will face each other in the other match of July 18, a day in which all five teams will have played at least twice.
